Did You Know 3.0 (non-linguistic representations)
Wow!!! The Did you know 3.0 is powerful!!! Please watch this and share with others. What struck me with this presentation was the understanding that students today will be expected to "train" for careers that do not yet exist....so problem solving, the ability generalize and apply are paramount in the development of our curriculum standards. Although Non-linguistic representations are not until chapter six, I think they may be the most important element in the effect classroom because they facilitate the transfer, understanding, and application of knowledge in non- specific ways! The concepts presented in this video~ please watch. (for those of you on the Cherokee County Filter....I'll get it posted on our linx page....

Beginnings! Marzano Chapter 1
Hello Bloggers! I have so enjoyed reading and getting to know you all! For the perpetual teachers who are craving parameters and boundaries, the basic outline of this workshop consists of discussing the book chapter by chapter. Begin here with your initial reaction to Marzano's Chapter 1. Marzano spent years collecting and crunching data. However, his work only became of note when the accountability model in education emerged. What practices in this book do you identify with????? And yes, blogging can be frustrating and I do not pretend to be an expert by any means. This is a learning stretch for me to even attempt to host the blog so I beg for your patience as we learn together. One of my goals for this course is that each of you will create your own blog using www.blogger.com.
